Partners

At BiomACS, we believe in the power of collaboration to improve our technology and use it for the benefit of human health. One of our most important partners is the UMCG. That is where BiomACS technology originated, developed at the Department of Biomedical Technology at the University Medical Center Groningen and the University of Groningen. But the UMCG is not our only partner. Here is a list of some of the other partners we work with.

Northern Netherlands Partnership (SNN) & European Regional Development Fund (EFRO)

The SNN grant has enabled us to launch a project that will take our screening technology (MedScreen) for optimal medical materials into the next phase of its life cycle. In this SNN-EFRO project, BiomACS’ screening technology will make the transition from in vitro screening to in vivo preclinically validated new cardiovascular stents. BiomACS is collaborating with UMCG Surgery, Biomedical Technology, and Bentley to develop a new endovascular stent graft that minimizes secondary complications such as leakage and displacement.

Personalised Implants Ecosystem

Collaboration Personalized Implants

The project “Personalized Resorbable Osteosynthetic Fixation Devices Through Rapid Manufacturing” focuses on developing customized, resorbable fixation devices for bone fractures, specifically designed for the individual situation of the patient. Collaborating parties PolyVation, VDL, BiomACS, Elbo Technics, Innovizie, Smartpolymers, and the UMCG are committed to applying innovative materials such as PLA and PEEK, compatible with rapid manufacturing processes including 3D printing techniques. This initiative aims to improve healing through products with a perfect fit and finish, and strengthens the Personalized Implants Ecosystem through complementary knowledge and techniques.
